About Dr Claudelle
"As a dancer, I've learned that nimble feet are required to navigate through complexities. This has helped me to lead others through constant change and uncertainty. Leadership, governance, culture, ethics and courage are topics that are very dear to my heart. My dream is to make a positive contribution in shaping a better world for all who live in it."
Dr Claudelle von Eck is a governance and leadership strategist whose career spans corporate, public, academic, professional associations, and non-profit arenas. With her ability to rebuild trust, shape ethical cultures, and integrate strategy with humanity, she has guided complex organisations through transformation and renewal. As a former CEO, a Non-Executive Director and Executive Coach, she brings a rare combination of analytical rigour, psychological insight, and deep systems thinking to every leadership table.
An erstwhile CEO of the Institute of Internal Auditors South Africa, Dr. Claudelle’s most notable NED role was on the board of directors that helped turn the national energy utility, Eskom, around in the height of its crisis. During the board’s tenure, Eskom went from plunging the country into daily rolling blackouts to stable energy generation. Other Governance roles include serving as a board member of Mistra, a Council member of Unisa, the largest university in the southern hemisphere, a Board member of the Unisa Graduate School of Business, an Audit Committee member of the Department of International Relations and Cooperation, a member of the Gauteng Ethics Advisory Council, Chair of the Anti-intimidation and Ethical Practices Forum, and an Advisory Board member of the Gibs Centre for Business Ethics.
